IFGF GISI Toronto Church
Learn more about the church
A multicultural church would be the words to describe IFGF GISI Toronto. People that come to worship in our church come from many different backgrounds, races, and nationalities such as Indonesia, Korea, Singapore, China, Brazil and many other countries.
A big number of our congregations are international students and professionals who live in Toronto and the surrounding area. They come to our church and experience a life-changing experience. One day when they return to their homeland, they will pass the light and bring new hope to their people.
Pastor Henry & Lidya Suhady, along with Pdp. Bob Barnabas, Pdp. Donkyu Lee and Pdp. Andreas Tandaki in their pastoral team, each year faithfully reach out to people and communities from different backgrounds, give them guidance, and raise them up to find their life's calling and find their place in a fellowship of God's family.
In addition to the yearly routines of holding a welcoming party for new students, picnics, Christmas & Easter celebrations, sport events, and care groups, the church must often face the challenge of mentoring a congregation that is so plural in their backgrounds. But it is, as Pastor Henry often said, the joy of seeing changes and restoration in people's life that have kept us as a team to be comitted to our values and extends our reach even beyond the four walls of the church.
The Standers is our very own band formed by the gifted young people of IFGF Toronto. Their first album called "First and Foremost" which was recorded in English and Indonesian, will be released in Spring 2010.
